Day 17 - Leaving Sundance for Home

Good Morning from Sundance, Wyoming!

We woke up this morning with something in common with the old west outlaw, the Sundance Kid.  The Sundance Kid woke up in the Sundance jail wishing he was home, and Troop 3 woke up this morning at the Mountain View RV Park in Sundance wishing they were home.

As the first one up, I walked around the campgrounds to see where we were.

Ah, there's the bus and the missing wheels.

This was something interesting, a birdbath made to look like a blacksmith's forge.

This elk statue appears to be cast out of bronze.

He is our hurriedly put up campsite from last night.

One nice thing about Mountain View RV Park was the recreation facilities.

The boys had pool...

Board games....

Ping Pong....

Here Tommy is going for that ultimate shot.

Wait John, are you suppose to hit the white ball???

The boys also took full advantage of the swimming pool.

And now for a pool side daily update, here's Larry....

For Barry and I, the best sight was when the mechanic came to our campsite
and started working on the bus.

Finally, we were back on the road at around 2:00 pm, and as we left town
we saw the town's name written in white rocks on the hill side.

One of our gas stops in South Dakota was next the the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site.  Unfortunately, we did not have the time to visit, but Aaron ran over with his National Parks passport book and got it stamped.

Also at the gas station there was a prairie dog village....what cute little critters!

We also stopped at a rest area where they had a neat memorial to the American Indian nations.

For gas & supper we stopped in Mitchell, South Dakota, and ate across the road from the world's only Corn Palace, which is completely covered and decorates in....you guessed it....CORN!
