Day 10 - Hike Day 6- Horseshoe Lake to End of the Trail

Today, we completed the backpacking portion of the high adventure trip.
Our hike was approximately 7 miles with an elevation drop of 3,000 feet from 9,600 to 6,600.

Below is a look at the route out of the mountains on the Upsidedown Creek Trail.

Today we woke early, broke camp, ate breakfast and started our final day in the mountains.

Funny how were within sight of our camp when we had to cross a stream from Horseshoe Lake
and risk getting our feet wet yet again!

Which way do we go?  Main Boulder Road or back to the Rainbow Lakes???

More beautiful views as we hike.

Countless Switchbacks as we descend the mountains.

Here was a waterfall created from a fallen tree across the stream.

It seems that in the movie Ghostbusters we were not suppose to cross the streams.

Our first glimpse of the road in the distance....boy, that's a long ways away!

Crossing debris fields.

Are you sure we are getting closer???

The greenery changes with elevation.

More and more switchbacks!!!

Leaving the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness.

The trailhead sign.

After we arrived at the road, Tim and Barry hiked to the bus and picked all of us up for the ride back to Dana's house.  For some reason the scouts started singing the song by Bill Passalacqua entitled "Jack Rabbit".  Since I know Bill from years gone by, I decided to video tape their singing for his enjoyment, and now for your enjoyment as well.

And now for Larry's Daily Update!
