Day 13 - Stranded in Greybull - Day 2

Today we started our second day in Greybull, Wyoming, and we decided to take a tour and see what we could see.  One of the first things we saw was our bus at the repair shop.  As you can tell, our mechanic is well versed on a variety of things with wheels.

One stop was at the Greybull Museum and Library, which use to be an old grade school in town.
This would be handy for sharpening those axes at the campsite.

The museum featured may fossels and bones found in the immedate area.
We learned how this area is rich with dinosaur bones!
Of course, the bones in this photo are bison.

We also found a small museum dedicated the the Howe Ranch Dinosaur dig from the 1920s, which was the largest concentration of dinosaur bones found in the world.  The Howe Ranch is just a few miles from Shell, Wyoming, where our bus broke down the day before.  The scull below is a replica, but many of the bones were real and on loan from local residents.  The older gentleman who gave us a tour and showed us a video from the time of the original dig personally new those involved, including members of the Howe family.  It was facinating to listen to his stories.

While we were at the museum, some scouts headed off to the town's indoor pool to go swimming.  The town's chamber of commerce made arrangements with the park district to furnish the troop with 20 free passes to go swimming!

Back at camp, Barry is preparing what looks goulash!

The guys show off some of the treasures they found at the used bookstore in the back of a quilt shop.

Wyatt making some ice tea.

Nothing will ruin good friendships like a game of cards, played day after day after day!

Hey Tim, what's for supper???

One of the local churches in town sponsored a youth center call "The Shack" and was open a couple of nights while we were in town.  This was a great place for the scouts to get away from the campsite.

After a full day exploring the little town, it was back to our campsite.
